I often take my siblings out for a feed whether it be for some fresh grilled salmon nigiri at a sushi joint or an epic burger that falls apart due to the unfathomably mouthwatering amount of ingredients inside of it.
This time, my little brother and I headed out to The Apollo in Potts Point. With a prompt greeting, we were seated immediately with the menu’s in our hands. For a Tuesday night, this place was insanely packed which only meant the food had to be amazing.
Being the eldest and the responsible one, I ordered my little brother a non-alcoholic mojito and myself a Pickled Greek which was Hendricks Gin, Cucumber, Chilli and Pickles. A great start to our feast.
The first of our two part entree was one of the best dips on earth.
The Taramasalata Mullet Roe Dip with freshly baked pita bread.
Light and full of that desired roe taste, the Taramasalata was amazing and worked well with the semi-crunchy pita bread.
Second entree to arrive was this gorgeous Saganaki cheese which arrived sizzling and topped with a generous amount of honey and oregano. Stab your fork in there and indulge in its mouthwatering cheesiness. So freaking good. You must order this.
Asked for some extra pita bread for the leftover Taramasalata that was left in the jar if you’re wondering what’s in the box below.
What I love about share plates is that you get to taste all the dishes on the table. ALL OF THEM!
Arriving in front of us were these tender and divine Apollo Pork Sausages with Chickpeas and Saffron. As soon as you slice into them, you’re surrounded by their heavenly aroma.
And a plate of these succulent slices of Seared Tuna with a rather delicious and crunchy Charred Lettuce. Don’t dis the lettuce, you’ll enjoy it.
Quiet refreshing and pleasant was this Fig, Feta and Mint Salad.
And to end this incredible feast, we ordered the Loukoumades. They are deep fried dough balls soaked in honey and sprinkled with pistachios. So warm and unbelievably scrumptious. The perfecting ending.
You can do as I did and take your sibling, or whoever you want really. Just as long as you enjoy the fantastic food, drinks and venue. A great spot and can’t wait to come back and devour some more of that amazing tarasamalata dip.
