With a relationship that started two years ago, KitKat Japan is back a vengeance and whole new flavour. The chocolate company has teamed up with Tokyo Banana for a sweet “Gold Caramel Tokyo Banana Flavour.” According to KitKat, the gold is meant as moral support for Japan’s national athletes in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics, while nodding to all the hard workers in the country who always strive for gold.
Produced in packs of 8 or 15, the boxes will have a yellow cover with co-branding alongside a graphic of a golden ribbon and confetti. Unwrapping the bars, the mini wafers feature caramel powder mixed inside and out, flowing with lush banana flavours and white chocolate. And to finish them off, each bar has been stamped with “Tokyo Banana”.
They’re currently available at Tokyo Okashi Land at Tokyo Station until January 8. The Gold Wrapped Caramel Tokyo Banana Flavour Kitkats will be made available at locations across Tokyo such as airports, train stations and other tourist spots in boxes filled with 8-packs or 15-packs at $6 and $12 USD, respectively.
