Merivale’s #JustDesserts came back this year for a night of sugary sweet goodness.
Held at the Establishment on George St, Sydney, the Just Desserts event last week showcased the wonderful work from venues from the Merivale Group such as Lorraine’s Patisserie, Mr Wongs, Est, Ms Gs, Bistrode CBD, Functions & Events at Merivale and the Establishment Bar.
At $45 a ticket, we were given 6 tokens to splurge on the endless amounts of desserts that were made, with each dessert ranging from 1 – 2 tokens each. If you missed out, I’m pretty sure it’ll be back next year because this was an awesome event.
Visit March Into Merivale for more information on their other fantastic events.
Scroll down and check out what we ate. The tooth fairy is definitely not going to like us after this 😛
From the Ms Gs stand, this Pandan Tres Leches Cake. Sweet and refreshingly delicious due to an array of fresh berries.
Not worth 1 token but still yummy, a tiny paper cone filled with caramel popcorn and pretzels. Should’ve been a whole lot bigger. From the Functions & Events at Merivale stand.
Also from the Functions & Events at Merivale stand, was this insane toasted marshmallow and passionfruit popsicle that was filled with a passionfruit ice cream on the inside and a gooey warm marshmallow outer. Wins second best dessert in our eyes.
Bistrode had this Jane Strode’s honey tart with peanut butter ice cream. So peanuty and yummy. Peanut and honey always work well together.
From Est, the Chocolate Delice, Frozen Creme Anglaise, Rye Tuille was delicious and fun to watch make with the liquid nitrogen.
Bistrode’s Goat cheese and date pastry, fig and orange sauce was a little too much for me, though the fresh fig was awesome.
Also from Ms Gs was this Nutella and banana spring roll. Crispy filo filled with warm Nutella and banana. It’s Nutella so you know it’s bound to be yummy.
Functions and events at Merivale made this ultra fruity Raspberry and Lychee Macaron. Mmm..
This New York Cheesecake by Lorraine’s Patisserie was definitely great value for 1 token. Such a large piece and rather delish.
We reckon the best dessert at March Into Merivale’s Just Dessert event was the Mango pudding with passionfruit granita, mango pearls and tapioca made by Dan Hong and his wonderful Mr Wong team. Had two or three of these bad boys as they were refreshing and full on fruity as. The mango pearls and tapioca were amazing.
What a night, an awesome event filled with plenty of well prepared and delicious desserts.
